Chemistry taught for understanding — not simply for the examination..
Structured GCSE and A-Level Chemistry programmes built around deep understanding, academic mastery and nearly forty years of classroom teaching and examining experience.
ACE Academy is designed for students who want more than a collection of notes, videos and practice questions.
Each programme follows a carefully structured pathway in which ideas are taught, questioned, applied and revisited until the underlying chemistry is secure.
The aim is not simply to complete a syllabus. It is to develop the understanding, reasoning and examination skills needed to tackle demanding chemistry with confidence.
1. Diagnose
Students begin by identifying what they already understand securely and where further development is needed.
2. Learn
Chemistry is taught through carefully structured lessons designed to develop understanding rather than encourage memorisation.
3. Apply
Students use that understanding to tackle increasingly demanding questions and unfamiliar problems.
4. Master
Progress is checked through assessment, with important ideas revisited until the required standard has been reached.
Structured Teaching
Carefully sequenced chemistry lessons build ideas progressively, so later work rests on secure foundations.
Narrated and Video-Based Learning
ACE Academy is being expanded with narrated and video-based teaching designed to bring more of the experience of personal chemistry teaching into the online programme.
Assessment and Feedback
Diagnostic and mastery assessments help students identify gaps, check progress and determine when they are ready to move forward.
Examination Expertise
Teaching combines strong subject understanding with close attention to the precision, reasoning and examination technique required at GCSE and A-Level.
ACE Academy has been developed by Frank Scullion, drawing on nearly forty years of teaching chemistry and extensive experience in public examination assessment.
That experience shapes not only what is taught, but how chemistry is explained, how questions are approached and the level of precision expected in a strong examination answer.
The aim is to bring the judgement and guidance of an experienced chemistry teacher into a structured programme that students can work through at their own pace.
ACE Academy provides structured pathways through GCSE and A-Level Chemistry. Choose the programme appropriate to the student’s current stage and learning needs.
ACE Academy is currently being expanded with a new generation of narrated and video-based teaching resources designed to bring students closer to the experience of being personally taught.
New A-Level student enrolments are planned to reopen in January 2027, with GCSE programmes following in January 2028.
In the meantime, you can follow the development of the Academy and see what is being added.
ACE Academy is being developed for students who want a structured, demanding and supportive approach to chemistry.
